Brent Raynes, Alternate Perceptions Magazine 9/24/17 - In pursuit of all things curious

"I abandoned the extraterrestrial hypothesis in 1967, when my own field investigations disclosed an astonishing overlap between psychic phenomena and UFOs," Keel wrote. "The objects and apparitions do not necessarily originate on another planet and may not even exist as permanent constructions of matter. It is more likely that we see what we want to see and interpret such visions according to our contemporary beliefs." - John Keel, Obituary/Telegraph

Sci-Fi Fans have a lot to choose from on the small screen -
  • Star Trek Discovery - an experiment in streaming CBS All Access
  • The Orville - Fox
  • People of Earth - TBS
  • Dr. Who - BBC
  • Big Screen/Blade Runner 2049  Main site
  • Syfy tripping through time - a list of 25 - popcorn friendly big and small screen.

Brent Raynes edits the Web Zine - Alternate Perceptions Magazine and is the author of  Visitors From Hidden Realms (2004) (Excerpted on this blog site from a reader who has her own story to add) and On The Edge of Reality (2009).

He is currently working on a third book tentatively titled UFOs, Monsters, Miracles, and Jadoo, an exploration of the life and pioneering research and investigations of journalist John A. Keel – a man he corresponded with beginning in 1969, and whose pioneering work in this field had a considerable influence and impact on the evolution of his own involvement in such mysterious and complex matters, as well it did for many other people."

Brent posted about a UFO case in Costa Rica - involving a UFO that was tracked underwater. Leslie Kean included that case in a HuffPost article on the Chilean Navy UFO videos. Here is the Aquadilla document pdf she referenced.

About those John Keel EVPS? - this post addresses even more of that phenomenon: APMagazine - Reality Checking from March 2017

Other articles to check out:
  • The Collins elite - UFOs, Paranormal and Plasma - by Dr. Greg Little
  • Brent Raynes on Reality Checking - a nice mix of odd and unusual.
  • And the last Reality Checking post - is one I refer to that addresses UFOs and barium clouds. Interesting to note the possibility of a connection to military experiments. The colors were interesting to me. Red and greens are mentioned and that has my attention.

My 2013 bedroom encounter with a red and green lighted dinner-plate sized UFO rules out the barium cloud aspect.

What is going on here? So many questions and not enough of the big picture to provide a clear view.  There is a larger playing field to examine and the key is to allow that - for all that we "know" - mapping this terrain requires the ability to expand one's awareness in a way that allows for knowing m-o-r-e beyond the linear POV.

A tease to explore. Here's a record of Kansas UFO sightings.

Wendy's Coffeehouse interview with Phyllis Galde

Editor in Chief, Phyllis Galde was no stranger to paranormal phenomena when she acquired the magazine.

She grew up in a haunted house and had many encounters with the unexplained. We talk about that. Some of her stories.

During the relocation the original website crashed.

The Fate Magazine website has been redesigned and the original links for this post no longer exist. The is the general Link

She said it scared her silly when she was 5 years old, of the ghost that visited her in her bedroom. She was so afraid she  ran out and jumped into bed with her parents.

Her Mom understood her interest in the paranormal. Indeed, she was told later that her Grandfather died in the room. They held seances. A few dots began to connect.

Phyllis shares her encounters with Fairies and ETs. I add a few of my own. If you've never read Fate Magazine, sample a few stories and or Subscribe at connect.

We also mention Species Link Journal - I submitted a piece for this recent issue on the topic of 'what extinct animal would you choose to bring back'. My answer addresses that topic but I don't advocate bringing back an extinct animal.

Is winning a medical settlement related to a UFO (Rendlesham Forest) encounter a game changer? Follow the bread crumbs, you'll discover this entire matter is, intentionally, a very tangled web.

US Airman John Burroughs knows what he saw and has the physical results to back it up. Video I used to reference his comments is unavailable. Of the content that had been available this statement sums it up best: It's time to address the core issue. There is a phenomenon that no one officially wants to talk about. Thus society lives inside a false reality.

FYI - John sites the importance of Project Condign - Reference the PDF

Side note: The information cited in the Condign paper also gives credence to the Delphos, KS encounter, and my own sighting, 2013, where the craft shifted, in an instant, from being inside the house to outside the house where I could still see the lights through the mini-blinds. Instantaneous.

Not only is the truth out there, it's all around. Hidden in plain view - because that's the easiest place to discount/deny.

Annie Kagan, Author, The Afterlife of Billy Fingers has had tremendous success with her book on life after death. Here's just one example of the glowing recommendations she's received. --

Dannion Brinkley (who woke up in the morgue after being struck by lightning) is the bestselling author of Saved by the Light:  "The Afterlife of Billy Fingers reaffirms the NDEs experiences of the light and love I encountered on the other side. It's an engaging account of the transformation of the spirit and I highly recommend."

Annie had been taking a break from media when I requested an interview but the timing was great so we had a chance to recap all that has happened since she started hearing from her deceased brother. No matter what it sounds like now, after a few years of integrating and becoming more comfortable with the process and confident in the connection, the initial event still required a significant mind shift.

From personal experience, there are a lot of mixed emotions involving wonder, curiosity, euphoria, questioning one's sanity, to name a few. But the continuity and the routine, combined with information so personal that only the person who shared those moments with you could really provide the intimate details, helps the relationship gel. Everything changes.

That's what happened. Everything changed when Annie's brother checked back in to report on his new surroundings. His sense of humor is intact. Here's the book promo for Annie's Bestseller -

Does she still hear from Billy? Yes.

From a 2013 interview with Annie - Hamptons Neighbor:

"Billy has reminded me that we are literally made of stars, that the intelligence that runs the Universe is available to us. The same intelligence that breathes our breath and heals our wounds and beats in our hearts also gives birth to stars and galaxies. As Billy says, when you imagine the infinite, you're touched by the infinite itself."

  • Documentary out now: The Devil and Father Amorth. IndieWire. William Friedkin says shooting a real exorcism was "Terrifying." Variety  Some are worried publicity on this topic might create the need for more exorcisms. HuffPost

Friedkin did the The Exorcist in 1973. "Amorth's favorite film was The Exorcist. He thought it substantially correct and based on true events, although the special effects were exaggerated. In an interview with the London Sunday Telegraph, Amorth stressed that "People need to know what we do." [5]" - Wiki

Because of the rating, my Stepfather took me. It was a sell out crowd. He was mortified. Told Mom afterward he had no idea what he had agreed to. I (also) thought it was wildly exaggerated but I liked the supernatural element and knew that part could be real.

Revisiting the subject from a different vantage point gave Friedkin an opportunity to dive deep into the topic and explore various viewpoints and case histories.

Worth reading, he writes about the experience in Vanity Fair and includes commentary from a discussion on exorcism amongst leading US Psychiatrists. Jeffrey Lieberman, director of the New York State Psychiatric Institute, had an up close and personal encounter he can't quite explain, including paranormal activities at his house.

What does become more apparent in reading the backstory and comparing notes offered by the Psychiatrists, none are quite so willing to dismiss it or label it a hoax as might have been the case in 1973.

I did a previous post on this topic (exorcism). Wendy's Coffeehouse
