Fleeting moments, Modern wonders, and Cow fairies

“The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.” – Terry Pratchett

Totality buzz

What about those 4 minutes of eclipse totality is so special that people will plan for decades and travel the world to chase an encounter? More than words can say. Here is one attempt. “There is something about witnessing history with other people—a sort of existential affirmation that indeed, I am real and I am experiencing this event because all around me, other people are seeing or hearing or touching and tasting the same thing I am.” Continued: Scientific American.

AI, Robotics, and Consciousness

  • Test drive Synthetic memories. According to this author, “This concept draws parallels to the movie “Blade Runner,” (based on the novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” by Philip K. Dick) where replicants were implanted with memories to provide emotional grounding.” Source.
  • What is a synthetic memory? “A Synthetic Memory is a digitally reconstructed representation of a personal memory created with Generative Artificial Intelligence (GEN-AI) technologies. It recreates a past visual experience that might have faded, changed, or been forgotten over time.” Interesting Website: Link.
  • The future is trending. Envision next level hiking. Hypershell is a One-horsepower AI exoskeleton. Definitely puts more oomph in the walk. Check out the nifty YouTube demo.
  • Consciousness: American neurophysiologist Christof Koch argued in Scientific American that if lumps of matter can form into human bodies and become conscious, there’s no reason that groups of elementary particles couldn’t either.” Source.
  • Bots are evolving. Figure recently demoed an update to its robot’s brain with a vision-language model (VLM), trained by OpenAI, which means it can now understand speech, execute verbal commands, and even explain why it is doing what it is doing.” Source.
  • Magic bullet. Meta researchers believe AI needs a body to become intelligent. Read the hows and whys here: Link.
  • I side with Consciousness Researcher Tom Butler who offers a counter to that theory: Consider the Avatar.

“Presumably, all humans are an avatar for an immortal self. My objective is to suggest details about the avatar relationship and to show that the model does not preclude other species from being avatars.

Considering how we think transform Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) are formed, I will suggest the possibility that an electronic device might also serve as an avatar. I explore the implications of personage without human instincts.” Etheric Studies Link.

Updating the knowns

Dreaming up

Dreamed I was listening to my podcasts. I heard a cow in the background, birds in another, and was delighted because it gave the recording a unique spin. Authentic. Nature.

The thing I am left with is how very reassuring and natural it felt during the dream to hear that cow mooing in the background. Just once. Providing a special meaning for me that I can’t explain. Made perfect sense in the dream.

Later in the day I find a synchronicity in my blog feed. A post on Faery cattle. Magical. Known for their knack for appearing in times of need. British Fairies Blog.

So many ways to interpret this. It makes me smile. That’s enough.

One more thing – Telepathy

I interviewed Jes Kerzen, Author of ‘A Mind Beyond Words’Amazon. Like nothing you’ve read or heard about autism.

She writes on Medium“I’m discovering all I can about autistic spectrum perception, about psychic abilities, about spirituality and about the processes involved in publishing and publicising my first book about all the above."

Her blog includes an entry referencing Carlos CastanedaLink.

[The story she has to tell about her connection with Asher and how she learned to connect with him telepathically deserves to be amplified to a wider audience. His abilities and what he is exploring beyond our physical world is extraordinary. Please check out her book and her writing.]

I want the fortune cookie that foretells a future where the present isn't overwhelmed working out the kinks from the past.

“It can be very dangerous to see things from somebody else's point of view without the proper training.”

Reincarnation and past lives are the topic of my recent conversation with Dr. Bernie Siegel, posted in Wendy's Coffeehouse archives. Link

Author of several books, Love, Medicine and Miracles was the initial best seller. In his first book of fiction, Three Men, Six Lives, one of the characters was developed from his own past life memories.

We also talk about how his current life experiences include an uptick in paranormal encounters since the death of his wife. He says he feels her as a constant presence.

Stories Bernie shares from his patients and his own life are proof that, while we don't have all the answers for why some people heal and others don't, we do have proof that miracles can happen. Because they do.

2020 headlines are delivering a delightful serving of weird, odd, offbeat and fringe.
  • A Witch was it? Apparently, one gave the President Covid. For real? Vice.
  • Navy says UFOs are real - still dogged by little green men asides. NPR.
  • Toxic Caterpillars that look like toupees. Don't touch. Nope. AOL.
  • Loch Ness Nessie buzz: "The most compelling sonar images of a 32-foot long object, some 500 feet below the loch's surface." Inverness Courier.
  • UFO curious: The Calvine Incident. Release blocked by MoD until 2072. And the question: "By the time the world gets to see the file, the two witnesses will be dead. It is crazy. What are the authorities trying to hide?" The Sun.
  • Ahead of the game: Guy who patented the UFO. YouTube. 2018 worth repeating.
  • Eddie Van Halen died. Outstanding 2017 interview demonstrates his guitar skill. YouTube.
  • Covid safe. Flaming Lips concert audience will be in bubbles. Rolling Stone.
  • FYI - Neck gaiters got a bum rap. University of Georgia study in what "seems to be the first actual face mask and neck gaiter study." Best result: Gaiters made up of two to three layers (polyester and spandex) provided a 96 percent reduction in respiratory droplets. Yahoo. (Bias: I own the Eddie Bauer version.)

Cases involving missing children who claim to have been helped by large dog or bears are curious. David Paulides notes a couple of those and says he isn't ready to draw any conclusions. No doubt, they remain fascinating.

- Working on another interview with Experiencer John Foster. 46 years of contact and interaction with UFOs is an incredible database. While there seems to be great interest in the topic and in nuts and bolts UFOs, there is still an avoidance or simply a lack of awareness regarding those who have reported lifetime encounters.

John's background as an engineer makes him uniquely qualified to add insight into the machinery or lack of machinery manifested during an encounter. Will update when I have more information to share.

- Seeing footage of the Ariel school children included in James Fox's newly released film The Phenomenon is a reminder that the film about that incident is still waiting in the wings - now titled Ariel School Phenomenon - it has been a work in progress for several years.

Film is finished but no public release date to note. However, there is increasing activity and promotion on the Facebook page. Link.

- After the conversation with Bernie Siegel about Carl Jung, I discovered an interesting prophecy. Jung's Prophetic Visions are listed here. Here's hoping the deathbed vision is several decades further out.

- On a POSITIVE note: The Expanse, Season 5 = December 16th. Amazon Prime. Trailer. Counting down. The Expanse Cast Interview/New York Comic Con.

  • Another Baltic Sea [2012] mystery: "Professional diver Stefan Hogerborn, part of the Ocean X team which is exploring the anomaly, said some of the team's cameras and the team's satellite phone would refuse to work when directly above the object, and would only work once they had sailed away. Daily Mail. UFOs in Kansas City. Some areas are known hot spots with frequent and or repeated activity. Missouri MUFON investigators track the reports. They also track reports of weird and unusual related to UFO sightings.

Wendy's Coffeehouse interview, 2/4/18 - Margie Kay and Jean Walker - Paranormal, UFO and Unexplained in the Heartland

In addition to investigating cases reported to Missouri MUFON, Margie Kay and Jean Walker are both experiencers of Paranormal, UFO and Unexplained phenomena.

What's it like to experience the Joplin Spooklight up close and personal? Margie Kay and Jean shared experiences they had prior to knowing each other and then again when they decided to make a return trip to investigate the area and see if they could determine a source or a cause.

You can hear my previous interview with Jean about her life-time of paranormal experiences, including ET Abduction documented in her book, Family Secrets: UFO Hub video

Margie Kay has recently published The Kansas City UFO Flaps, full color with detailed case reports. Anyone who has reported a sighting (local KC or not) will appreciate comparing their experience with those compiled from others who have also furnished images and location information. Margie Kay on KCTV talking about one of the UFO Flaps.

One of the stories presented in her book is ongoing and so detailed and compelling Margie Kay says a follow up book is planned to focus specifically on that case.

SciXFriday - Paradox, Mystery, Supernatural and Telepathy? - Time out for a Weekend

As Hamlet said to Horatio, “There are more things in heaven and earth . . . than are dream’t of in your philosophie.” -  Vanity Fair - re: Witnessing 'Vatican Exorcist' / Father Amorth at Work

  • Documentary out now: The Devil and Father Amorth. IndieWire. William Friedkin says shooting a real exorcism was "Terrifying." Variety  Some are worried publicity on this topic might create the need for more exorcisms. HuffPost

Friedkin did the The Exorcist in 1973. "Amorth's favorite film was The Exorcist. He thought it substantially correct and based on true events, although the special effects were exaggerated. In an interview with the London Sunday Telegraph, Amorth stressed that "People need to know what we do." [5]" - Wiki

Because of the rating, my Stepfather took me. It was a sell out crowd. He was mortified. Told Mom afterward he had no idea what he had agreed to. I (also) thought it was wildly exaggerated but I liked the supernatural element and knew that part could be real.

Revisiting the subject from a different vantage point gave Friedkin an opportunity to dive deep into the topic and explore various viewpoints and case histories.

Worth reading, he writes about the experience in Vanity Fair and includes commentary from a discussion on exorcism amongst leading US Psychiatrists. Jeffrey Lieberman, director of the New York State Psychiatric Institute, had an up close and personal encounter he can't quite explain, including paranormal activities at his house.

What does become more apparent in reading the backstory and comparing notes offered by the Psychiatrists, none are quite so willing to dismiss it or label it a hoax as might have been the case in 1973.

I did a previous post on this topic (exorcism). Wendy's Coffeehouse

In addition to paranormal mysteries and the unexplained, one of the most popular interview topics for my shows is self-healing and/or alternative healing abilities. There are so many options to explore.

Good place to start is to improve your ability to 'trust your gut'/tune into your intuition. We explore that with Wendie Colter - Medical Intuitive, Clairvoyant, currently writing her first book based on her experiences as a medical intuitive, healer and teacher.  She's offering classes to help enhance intuition skills at The Practical Path

Wendy's Coffeehouse Interview/Medical Intuitive Wendie Colter

Paraphrasing this from the interview, when I asked Wendie what her vision was for the future of energy medicine, she said she wanted to see healthcare practitioners versed in abilities that utilize their intuitive talents, integrating that inner knowing to skills gleaned in traditional medical training.

The goal is to clear the health issue at the source so that it doesn't return. Listen to the interview for her exact comments.
