Tom Butler, Exploring Afterlife Communication and connections between the Paranormal and Ufology

“I am Ubik. Before the universe was, I am. I made the suns. I made the worlds. I created the lives and the places they inhabit; I move them here, I put them there. They go as I say, then do as I tell them. I am the word and my name is never spoken, the name which no one knows. I am called Ubik, but that is not my name. I am. I shall always be.” - Philip K. Dick, Ubik

When I told the spirit guides, "I don't want to see dead people," I heard chuckles. And then they said, reassuringly, "They are not dead, they're energy."

Fast forward. When my friend died, she appeared as a pixelated blob while I was in the middle of a traffic report and couldn't afford to focus on the image. [Description = energy.] I asked her if she had any advice. She said, "Don't rush," and I understood: it's over soon enough. This is a friend who was frequently suicidal. At the end - she changed her mind but her road was already paved. - wendy

NOTEFloatingKC Holiday special. Effective for deep relaxation, stress, pain relief, sports enhancement, and PTSD therapy. I meditate when I float. After 3 years of float sessions, it took 3 or 4 sessions to fully acclimate. Payoff: fantastic visions, creative inspiration and stress relief. Confession: When I fell asleep for most of one session, I felt like it missed it!

Floating KC offers an excellent pre-float massage chair treatment. [Can also be scheduled as a separate session.] First time? Give yourself at least a couple of sessions to get comfortable with the new sensations and the environment. Typical session is 1 hour but longer sessions are available.

Regarding whiplash pain relief. [Car accident. Distracted person behind us saw the light turn green and tried to go through the three cars in front of her. We were the car that stopped her.] Having been through a similar event years earlier, I set an appointment within 48 hours - put myself in a state of deep relaxation during the float - and kicked the headache, neck and shoulder pain.

Highlighting benefits, this article also gives specific mention to float therapy as helpful in providing relief for whiplash pain. Healthline.com  Interested? Book your session at Floating KC

Wendy's Coffeehouse interview with Tom Butler - Evidence of Afterlife ATransC

Evidence of the Afterlife. ATransC was founded in 1982 by Sarah Estep. Tom Butler and his wife Lisa are Directors of the Association TransCommunication.

One of the most compelling EVP examples [and my favorite] is Cathy (deceased), who reprimands her dog for bad behavior. That story is referenced in the book, "I'm Still Here" - by Martha Copeland. Cathy is her daughter.

We talked about the new study underway. Tom is inviting submissions to help establish whether there is an ET/Alien connection. Tom recently joined MUFON to learn what might be possible when linking paranormal and UFO research.

The Extraterrestrial Visual Instrumental TransCommunication Study (ET Visual ITC Study link) is designed to determine if it is reasonable to say that some visual ITC examples are representative of life forms that have evolved on a different planet. That study is underway and seeking images.
*As of 12/15/2019.

Preview on Amazon.

Examples are provided along with a list of researchers who have submitted images. They also shared how they get their results: Link.

ATransC has published four books as AA-EVP Publishing.
There is No Death and There are No Dead is a guide for working with ITC.

Via ATransC website: The book has received considerable praise as an introductory book.

I don't know if that is true. I have talked to others about the ringing and I am not alone. Ringing is also supposed to be an indication of ET presence. Here's a quick plug for Float Therapy. Floating KC. I was reminded today that it has been 3 years since I had my first float. Wow!

That puts a lot of this in perspective. My first float was pretty incredible but there has been an interesting progression. While there have been some fantastic sessions, there was also a lull. I still had a good float and felt revived but the tone was subdued minus visions/epiphanies.

After experiencing ongoing sessions in a float room, I can say every single time is different. Today's float was almost completely opposite of my experience a few weeks ago. Last time was mellow and relaxing. This session - time expanded - in a good way - with so many things happening I wanted to get out and write down all the insights as soon as I could. I also felt incredibly energetic and motivated, totally invigorated.

At times, I had wondered if I had just become so acclimated that I was unable to progress to a deeper level. Then, today - with that huge influx of energy - I realized, just like meditation, it isn't IF the epiphany will come, it is WHEN - and simply continuing the practice.

Bottom line: If you have ever wondered about Float Therapy, try a session. Be prepared. A true assessment will require more than one session but one gets you in the door.

View that first time as a practice session - anything can happen - but you will be adjusting to the novelty of various aspects like ear plugs; whether to wear them or not and how that feels while you float, feeling sensations of buoyancy in the water, hearing your heartbeat, noticing the waves as you breathe. Falling asleep is also a possibility. I could go on - but not here.

I can recommend some books: Float Tank Therapy and/or The Book of Floating: "A superb book for initiates into the tank.” - Dr. John C. Lilly, author, The Deep Self. You may want to start your own float journal. When I have had any sort of muscle ache or soreness, the float has been a wonderful assist to loosen and relax stiff joints. It also helps to have a session in the Zero Grav massage chair. Reviews on Yelp.

Today's session was a consciousness boost and an affirmation that my intuitive connections are in sync with activities I have planned. Once again, I am revived and motivated to continue using Float Therapy as a method of stress relief, pain management and mind expansion.

Floating KC offers special rates for Veterans (PTSD relief), First Responders, Police Officers, Firefighters and EMTs. And Floating KC is on Groupon. Plan ahead for Christmas Gift Cards - and get one for yourself. If you can't take a break from all the end of the year chaos, you'll definitely appreciate it in January.

  • Float Therapy - There are other ways of attaining altered states without drugs. My experiences include meditation and floating. Both allow relaxation and stress relief. In the past year I have had several float sessions. Each was different. Three were incredibly helpful in my recovery from whiplash after a car accident. The headaches stopped and pain decreased in my neck, shoulders and back.
I began floating to experience a deeper state of meditation and that does work for me. If you are interested and in the Kansas City area, Floating KC runs various specials and offers a discount for a first time session. Mention this blog. There is a current Christmas offer. 12/17.

Previous guest John Alexander included fascinating details about his encounters with Shamans from around the world. John and his wife Victoria connected with The Gringo Shaman - Ron Wheelock. Through Victoria, I spoke with Ron to arrange our upcoming interview.

Here's a preview of Ron.

Referencing Reality Denied, John covers numerous encounters that defy explanation. One visit with a medium, well-known for her practice of table tipping (levitation), made a lasting impression. While the medium was unforgettable, details of the session faded. He says he wishes he had taken notes.

Life is like that. It happens in the details. Sometimes there are notes.

In prepping for the interview with Ron and to help integrate some of the crystal energy I started working with after our trip to Board Camp Crystal Mine, I scheduled an isolation float. (Floating KC)

About halfway into the session, there was an auditory cue, a short, staccato whistle. By that time I had slipped into an extremely relaxed state, almost to the point of dozing off. Improbable as it might seem, that sound was right next to me.

Alert and anticipating a follow up, the tapping started, a steady, rhythmic flow. As I counted the taps, I tried to rationalize that I could be hearing water dripping somewhere then opted to simply allow the process and stop putting energy into denial.

The sound lead me into deeper trance state. That is when the visions started. Beautiful images of eyes. They morphed and changed colors. Yellows, greens, dark and deep hues of raspberry and vivid reds. The eyes blinked. Each was a reptile of some sort. Turtle, lizard, frog, snake. The snake was representational and carried the message. Interactive and engaging, information was given. The visions stopped and the tapping sound ended. I left exhilarated, grounded and refreshed.

Since my STE in 1997, I have had extraordinary visions and dreams. Some are spontaneous. Others accompany the regular practice of meditating to access insight. I haven't required a psychotropic assist. However, I have spoken with others who affirm they could never have realized a liberating mind state without it. Each travels his own path.

Ron Wheelock, based in Peru, is from Independence Kansas. Thus the name, The Gringo Shaman. Taking a circuitous route, he has embodied his healing role for 25 years. In this interview, Ron describes some of the unique aspects of various Ayahuasca sessions.

After my float session, I discovered another video with Ron that I hadn't seen. DMT and the Spirit of Plants. He mentions, frogs, lizards and snakes. I believe in dots connecting. The purpose is self-revealing - and the symbolism with animal messengers is personal. Fascinating.

Wendy's Coffeehouse Interview 2/18/18 with Paddy Fievet.

Embrace your inner Mystic. Warning. Be careful what you wish for and extra careful what you pray for. Here's the prayer that turned Paddy's life upside down: "Whatever is standing in the way of me living a spiritual life please fall from me."

No doubt saying it during an intense thunderstorm added extra oomph. In retrospect, Paddy suggests adding "with light, love and ease" to that now road-tested request.

The chaos that ensued encompassed reprioritization and gutting of things that no longer worked with the life journey she mapped out. She says much of that story is related in a previous book, When Life Cried Out.

In the most recent book, The Eagle's View, Paddy charts five steps to modern Mysticism. In sync with the Valentine theme, Love is one of the five steps. Summing up, it's personal, a choice to remain trapped in fear or take the bold steps required to reconnect and unleash that wonderful spark of divinity that lies within.

Paddy is working on another book to share some of the profound experiences she has had since reorienting her life. Out now, The Eagle's View, Five Steps to Modern Mysticism. More info: Link. She writes about the Lighthouse: Edge Magazine

Leslie Kean - Evidence of the Afterlife - 11/5/17, Floating KC and a few extras

"Do well thy work, for it shall succeed, in thine or another's time." - Marcellus Ayer, Founder of the First Spiritual Temple

Podcast link for 11/5/17 interview

Surviving Death: A Journalist Investigates Evidence for an Afterlife. My interview with Leslie Kean has stayed in the top ten most listened to shows in the Wendy's Coffeehouse podcast archives since the first broadcast in March of this year. Intro for this 11/5/17 show is current and the interview is a rebroadcast, given the popularity of the topic.

I hope you enjoy the show. This is one of those topics I return to again and again. As an intuitive, I have no doubt as to the information being helpful. My own experiences are all the validation I need. But there are so many fascinating stories to be told of how each connects and discovers for himself a truth beyond knowing.

Believing is optional. Learning never stops. I learn from everyone I interview.

Oddsnends -

Quick note on the float I mentioned. A few weeks ago, we were in an accident. I got whiplash. Of course, the full extent of that injury didn't register at the immediate moment but I knew from past experience I needed to act fast.

I scheduled a float within 48 hours and experienced relief from the intense headache that had begun within the first 24 hours. The accident was Saturday and by Sunday night the pain was intense. Monday's float removed the headache. What a relief!

This is the third visit and, even now the recovery in my spine and neck continues. (Also incorporating massage therapy. 3 sessions.)

I am amazed at how much of a difference it can make. I am not a doctor nor offering this as medical advice. My experience with floating at Floating KC in Kansas City has included many sessions where the result was simply a complete disconnect from the world and total relaxation, stress reduction.

I also meditate when I float and that's a story for another time. (First time float offer I mentioned is 30 percent off your first session. Do tell them I referred you.)

Evidence of the afterlife exists. Few people have explored the topic in this manner and that's what makes the book an exceptional read. I first spoke with Leslie Kean about her New York Times best seller on UFOs. She invested a decade of research, relying, at times, on family for encouragement and support. The result was an outstanding effort. She took on the challenge of covering a controversial topic and brought a new layer of credibility to the category by linking a broad list of reputable, credentialed and undeniably verifiable sources. About Leslie Kean

Surviving Death - Amazon

"My intention is to present some of the most interesting evidence from diverse sources and show how it interconnects, making it accessible for the intelligent and curious reader encountering the material for the first time. Strict journalistic protocols can be applied to any topic for which there is data, no matter how unusual or even indeterminate." - Leslie Kean - Read an excerpt on Live Science

One of the most fascinating areas Leslie covers is Physical Mediumship. Background on what that entails from the First Spiritual Temple: FST, a Spiritualist Church. Details: About FST. The topic is helpful in highlighting the extreme end of the wide range of methods that can be undertaken to establish contact with the deceased. I have no doubt Leslie's personal viewpoint of life after death, as a result of her experience, underwent a profound change.

Leslie writes about her experiences with Stewart Alexander. You can learn more about Stewart in this video. He shares his journey, coming from a family with no background or Spiritualism connection, to becoming Physical Mediumship: YouTube

Wendy's Coffeehouse 7/16/17 interview - Paranormal Author F. P. (Frank) Dorchak

Frank and I have a few things in common - including being fans of The Twilight Zone (I had to sneak out of bed to watch the show - long story.), a love for writing scary stories as kids and experiencing all manner of strange and unusual things.

He also does the isolation floats so I was looking forward to sharing and comparing our experiences. Float number 8, Frank's Blog. We have had some interesting incidents but he has an even better resource in a float diary he's been keeping. For the whole story, start at the beginning and chart the progress. This is why we float. Frank's other Blog, Float 1 -7.

I think I am at about 8 or 10 and it continues to shift and change each and every time. Great for decompressing and unwinding. Always relaxing, no matter what the encounter. Floating KC offers a special rate for first timers, 30 percent off, if you mention the show or this post.

Haunts, frights, weird, disturbing, mind-bending, Frank peppers his stories with personal incidents. We talk about a few, including a disappearing grape and the reappearing ring.

That ring story isn't so far out when compared to one I posted about Psychic Spy/Remote Viewer Lyn Buchanan who talked with Jeffrey Mishlove about the reaction he got when he perfected his PK talent of putting a rock through a metal plate. Blog Post. Unappreciated to say the least.

Float Therapy - a refreshing "time out"

"Presumably there are energies, to which each human is sensitive, that we cannot yet detect by means of our instruments. Built into our brains and our bodies are very sensitive tuneable receivers for energies that we do not yet know about in our science but that each one of us can detect under the proper circumstances and the proper state of mind. We can tune our nervous systems and bodies to receive these energies. We can also tune our brains and bodies to transmit these energies." - John C. Lilly

Meditation has been hijacking the headlines as the top go-to for stress relief and I agree that meditation is helpful for unwinding the mind. However, in addition to quieting the mind, if there are pain issues such as muscle fatigue or sports injuries, you might consider another option: Float Therapy.

Isolation Therapy (REST, Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy) is experiencing a resurgence in popularity. With improved technology and upgraded equipment, the current providers are offering even more in terms of environmental aesthetics.

What a nice surprise to find a local venue! Here's my interview with Blake Swetnam of Floating KC.

First things first - if you are into this activity - you are called a Waver not a Floater. Smile. However, I broke that code in my first post just for grins. Yes, I am that easily entertained. As such, how fun to find this Float Intro on the Floating KC blog.

Entertaining for novices and experienced Wavers, this is an excellent (humorous) intro of what to expect from your first float.Tag along with Rhett and Link

Video is their introduction -- review and backstory on the adventure is after the video.

Curious? Try it.

Then compare your notes with Rhett and Link. Here's their assessment and review of the actual experience.

They do address the potential fear of claustrophobia but that element is a non-issue
