Float Therapy - a refreshing "time out"

"Presumably there are energies, to which each human is sensitive, that we cannot yet detect by means of our instruments. Built into our brains and our bodies are very sensitive tuneable receivers for energies that we do not yet know about in our science but that each one of us can detect under the proper circumstances and the proper state of mind. We can tune our nervous systems and bodies to receive these energies. We can also tune our brains and bodies to transmit these energies." - John C. Lilly

Meditation has been hijacking the headlines as the top go-to for stress relief and I agree that meditation is helpful for unwinding the mind. However, in addition to quieting the mind, if there are pain issues such as muscle fatigue or sports injuries, you might consider another option: Float Therapy.

Isolation Therapy (REST, Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy) is experiencing a resurgence in popularity. With improved technology and upgraded equipment, the current providers are offering even more in terms of environmental aesthetics.

What a nice surprise to find a local venue! Here's my interview with Blake Swetnam of Floating KC.

First things first - if you are into this activity - you are called a Waver not a Floater. Smile. However, I broke that code in my first post just for grins. Yes, I am that easily entertained. As such, how fun to find this Float Intro on the Floating KC blog.

Entertaining for novices and experienced Wavers, this is an excellent (humorous) intro of what to expect from your first float.Tag along with Rhett and Link

Video is their introduction -- review and backstory on the adventure is after the video.

Curious? Try it.

Then compare your notes with Rhett and Link. Here's their assessment and review of the actual experience.

They do address the potential fear of claustrophobia but that element is a non-issue
with Floating KC because the set up is a room rather than a tank (Zero Gravity Float Room).

6/4/16 - Aztec UFO - show headlines and overview

A million thanks to my guests Scott and Suzanne Ramsey for joining me and giving me a great topic to kick off the series.

Upshot and best news: A smoking gun surfaced during the media tour and press coverage for this book (Book 2). We talk about
that during the interview, another witness in the case.

This source adds yet another level of solid information and depth to the story. I do plan to reconnect with the Ramseys when they're ready to roll with the reveal (Book 3).

Headlines --

  • International Space Station UFO screen shot grabbed the lead - looks impressive [captured on the ISS live feed Thursday].

  • Explanation might be the Arizona meteor. "It was the brightest meteor event ever observed by NASA’s All Sky Fireball Network, says Bill Cooke, a meteor expert at NASA.Turns out it was actually a small asteroid with a diameter of five feet and weighing a “few tons,” said NASA, whose missions include finding and tracking near-Earth asteroids."
  • Elon Musk says we're living in a Matrix. Rather, he doesn't say we aren't. [Asked whether he was saying that the answer to the question of whether we are in a simulated computer game was “yes”, he said the answer is “probably”.]
  • And the time date is set for colonizing Mars -- 2024. Program for that begins with un-crewed trials in 2018. He even suggests plans for residency: "I think if you're going to choose a place to die, then Mars is probably not a bad choice," said Musk.
  • Viral of the week: Ghost in the Antique shop. That would be the misty thing wafting through the aisle at Hopkinson Vintage, Antiques and Art Centre. Said to be the wife of the original owner (130 years ago).

New Witness gives Phoenix Lights a fresh angle

"If the intelligence of these creatures were sufficiently superior to ours, they might choose to have little, if any, contact with us." - Brookings Institution report on extraterrestrial life. Quoted in New York Times, December 15, 1960.

March 13, 1997 is a standout event in UFO case history. Numerous witnesses reported seeing a large pattern of unexplained lights over Phoenix. Adding a helpful footnote in this case, a new witness has come forward to share his story. His sighting includes details regarding a mile wide object over Prescott, Arizona during that same time frame.

This animation recreates what the witness saw above Prescott, AZ. in 1997.

Nice bonus in the comments section. Another witness affirms the animation as a good representation of what he also saw while rafting on the Verde River. Here is his post:

-- "My brother and I saw that boomerang shaped craft during the daytime on the 13th of March 1997 about an hour before sunset. We were rafting on the Verde River approximately 5 river miles upstream from Horseshoe Dam. We were on the last day of a four day river trip that started out in Camp Verde and ended at the boat dock at Horseshoe Lake on the 14th.

The “Boomerang” was Silver in color with NO lights, corners, lines, windows, doors, hatches, ports, hard angles of any kind. The skin appeared to be as smooth and rounded as a blob of mercury from a broken thermometer. It was directly above our heads at 12 o’clock. I would guess it to of been about a mile high. It wasn’t flying and was totally silent. It was stationary in the air and didn’t move any direction at all. We watched it for a half hour or so, it did not move or make a sound.

As we were both wet, cold and it was starting to get dark we had to stop looking at it to go about gathering fire wood and setting up camp before we lost all light. It was gone about 20 minutes later. Neither of us saw it leave. I looked up after setting up my tent and it was gone.

What was truly amazing about the “Boomerang” was its size. It was really, really BIG. REALLY BIG!!! Yours is the only drawing of the “Phoenix Lights” that comes close to what I saw. Thanks for the video, Bill" --

Phoenix Lights and Out of the Blue links - The Phoenix Lights: A Skeptics Discovery that We Are Not Alone By Lynne D. Kitei The Phoenix Lights - 2009 "The weirdest thing about the documentary OUT OF THE BLUE is how weird it isn't." - TV Guide Out of the Blue - 2011

I am looking forward to seeing Ariel Phenomenon. Currently in post production, the film further examines the incident and re-interviews the children - now adults - who in 1994, experienced an extraordinary event. An event many in the world, even now, are challenged to fathom.
